BOY

BOY is playing at The Clurman Theatre located at 410 West 42nd Street. It runs ninety minutes with no intermission. The play closes on April 9, 2016.

Bobby Steggert was nominated for a Tony Award, Drama Desk Award, Outer Circle Critics Award and a Drama League Award in 2010 for Ragtime.

Adam Turner (Bobby Steggert) meets his next door neighbor Jenny Lafferty (Rebecca Rittenhouse) at a Halloween party. He invites her into his apartment. He seems interested in her but he seems shy.

When Adam was eight months old his parents toke him and his twin to be circumcised. An accident happened that left him without his sexual organs.

His parents Trudy (Heidi Armbruster) and Doug (Ted Koch) consult with Dr. Wendell Barnes (Paul Niebeck). Dr. Barnes advises his parents to raise him as a girl.

As Samantha gets older, she in not able to socialize with other children. Adam tries to not let other people say who he should be.

This is a touching story of a child whose life is turned upside down by an accident. See the show to see what happens.

Bobby Steggert does an impressive job in the role. You feel his pain.
