Afterglow
Afterglow is playing at the Davenport Theatre located at 354 West 45th Street. It runs ninety minutes with no intermission. It is closing March 18, 2018 with a possible extension
The time is the present springtime in New York City.
Josh (Brandon Haagenson) and his husband Alex (Joe Chisholm) have an open relationship. They are in bed nude with Darius (David Merten). All are having fun (sexual).
Alex is okay with Josh seeing Darius without him.
They are planning to have a family.
Josh is spends more time with Darius and they fall in love.
After a while Alex is not happy with it Josh spending so much time with Darius. He doesn’t know about the love thing.
Things heat up when Alex finds out Josh is paying Darius rent. He tells him that he doesn’t want him to see Darius again or else. Even when he does break up you wonder if Alex will forgive him.
Whether you are gay or straight going outside the marriage for fun is not wise. You are committed to one person and if you are not you shouldn’t have gotten married in the first place.
This play may not be for every one especially with the nude scenes. But it has something to say.
The cast does a banner job. They even change the set for different scenes.
