Alison (Beth Malone) is telling the story of her life. She is forty two and gay. Alison goes back and forth from child hood up to present time. She is making a graphic story of her life.

When she was young (Syndney Lucas) never felt comfortable in girl things, like dressing up.

Her father Bruce (Michael Cerveris) forces her to do girl things. Alison has an older and younger brother.

Bruce is a teacher and owner of Bechel Funeral home. The kids love playing in the coffins. Bruce loves to restore old homes. Her mother Helen (Judy Kuhn) is a teacher and playwright.

She remembers taking trips from their home in Pennsylvania to New York City. Their father would leave them alone when he went out.

When she goes to college she realizes she is gay. She tells her parents in a letter. When she does not hear from the she calls them but can’t get a reaction on how they feel about this.

Alison goes home with her partner. She confronts her parents. Her father seems okay with it. But her mother is upset. She tells Allison things about her father that have been kept a secret from her and her brothers.

I won’t tell you what it is but its heart wrenching. Two adult’s living lies not able or willing to face the truth.

Michael Cerveris is forceful in this role. He does an outstanding job. With a red wig and glasses I did not recognize him.

Sydney Lucas is a very talented young lady. She has such a beautiful voice.
