Latin History For Morons

Latin History for Morons is playing at the Public Theatre located at 425 Lafayette Street. It runs ninety minutes with no intermission. The play closes on April 23, 2017.

Tony Taccone is the director. He won a Tony Award for Bridge and Tunnel (2006).

John Leguiazmo was nominated for two Tony Awards for Sexaholic…A Love Story (2002) and Freak (1998). He won a Drama Desk Award for Ghetto Klown (1993)

This is a one man show written and played by John Leguizamo.

The stage has a large blackboard and table. There are loads of books all around. Things are plastered all around the wall.

John explains his wife approached him to talk to their son. He is being bullied at school and has a project he has to do for school. Maybe John could give him an idea on what to do.

Throughout the play he tell his son what do about the bullies. His ideas for the school project have to do with Latin history.

The audience gets to learn about Latin history. It was quite interesting.

The show was hilarious, at times raunchy but not in a vulgar way. John includes the audience at times as if there were students having them participate with a response or he asks one particular audience member a question..

If you want to have a laid back, funny evening go see this funny and educational show.
