Ring Twice For Miranda

Ring Twice for Miranda is playing at the New York City Center located at 131 West 55th Street. It runs two hours with one intermission. The play closes on April 16, 2017.

The location is the city. Down stairs and upstairs are at Sir’s house and a street nearby.

Miranda (Kate Kleiger) and Elliot (George Merrick) are down stairs. On the wall to the left are rows of bells for each room in the house. Ring one for Elliot and twice for Miranda. Elliot is the butler, Miranda the maid.

They have no work to do. At one time they were intimate. Miranda won’t tell Elliot what she does when she in Sir’s (Graeme Malcoln) bedroom.

Gulliver (Daniel Pearce) works with Sir. He helps run things. Gulliver fires Elliot. Miranda tries to get Sir to keep Elliot, he refuses.

Miranda and Elliot leave. There is no one in town or around. It seems there is no food. No ships have brought any food in a long time. Everyone has left.

They meet a couple who have a car and are looking for gas. Chester (William Connell) and Anouk (Taila Thiesfield) are odd hipsters. They are willing to take Miranda in the car but not Elliot. She won’t go unless Elliot does.

The last person they meet is a plumber (Ian Lassiter). He tells them he is on his way to the house.

When they get to the house the hipsters have their jobs.

Things occur, but you will have to see the play to find out.

I left having to many questions on what happened, why no food, is this the future. If Sir had something to do with it why didn’t the people fight back?

The cast was great especially George Merrick. He did an outstanding job.

The set was enjoyable. The cast helped move things around. The bells became Sirs bed, it flipped over.
