This is a two character play taking place in a prison office.
Cathy (Patti Lupone) has spent the last thirty five years in prison for killing a police officer. Even though she was sentenced to life she wants to be released. Her father is dying and she wants to make amends with him.
Ann has spent those years keeping her behind bars. She is questioning her, prodding her on her remorse, the book she is written, and the where about of her accomplices in the crime.
I was in the seats in heaven and it was hard hearing the two actresses for fifteen minutes. This may be a factor as to why some things did not make sense. When the sound was turned up I heard what they were saying. Information given was in piece mill from past to present. It was hard to put what happened together when you are trying to digest what was going on.
The performances were ok. Patti was stronger in her role.
It was supposed to run one hour thirty minutes. I’m lucky it only lasted one hour ten minutes.
