The place is a maxim security prisoner and various locations the volunteer is at.

Whorl opens with Sunnyside (Derrick Baskin) reading from a paper he has in his hands to the parole board.

The Volunteer (Sheri Rene Scott) is helping in a prison. She is setting up a small theatre group of inmates. The prisoners involved are Sunnyside, Rick (Nicholas Christopher), Jeffrey (Chris Myers), Source Ryan Quinn), Flex (Daniel J. Watts) and Bey (Donald Webber Jr.) The inmates involved in the program tell her how they came to be in prison. Some of the stories are Rick killed a policeman and Jeffrey took the rap for a friend who killed someone. I’ve only told you two stories but here are more including Volunteer.

Derrick, Nicholas, Chris, Ryan, Daniel and Donald play at least one other character without skipping a beat. They all do a terrific job.

This is thought thinking, well written story of men for one reason or another who are in jail. It is a show worth seeing.

It ends with Sunnyside in front of the parole board. The look on his face as goes backwards makes you wonder did or did he not get paroled. Well I hope he did!
